Accessibility at Tietoevry

“Accessibility allows us to tap into everyone’s potential.”
Debra Ruh – Accessibility Advocate
Our goal is to advance businesses and societies with purposeful technology – by delivering software and digital consulting services. People use software like websites and native apps in different ways, depending on their individual needs and preferences. This includes people with and without disabilities. Therefore, we view accessibility as an integral part of the digital products we build, making it a core requirement in all project decisions, from initial design to development.
Basic Accessibility Knowledge
Every Tieto employee should have basic knowledge of accessibility relevant to their role. This includes designers creating accessible user interfaces, developers writing semantic and accessible code, content creators using proper formatting, and QA testers conducting accessibility checks. A foundational understanding ensures accessibility is considered throughout the entire process, not just by a specialized team.
Accessibility Professionals
We have dedicated accessibility professionals who specialize in the topic and really dig deep. They have broad knowledge about disabilities, accessibility, and universal design, as well as accessibility-related standards, laws, and management strategies. Tieto’s accessibility professionals support internal teams and clients to build up their accessibility knowledge and expertise.
In general, our accessibility professionals hold appropriate certifications like the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) by IAAP. Having employees with accessibility certifications enables Tieto to participate in bids that require it as proof of our accessibility expertise.
